Central Park Police Precinct

The Central Park Police Precinct moved into the original Central Park horse stables in 1936.  An extensive renovation and rehabilitation of the structure has provided a modern, yet historically-sensitive home for NYPD police officers and staff, winning it The New York Landmarks Conservancy’s Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award.  While remaining respectful of the original architecture, Illumination Arts worked within a narrow range of approved light sources and luminaires to create a beautiful and appropriate lighting design for the renovated and expanded building.  Contemporary lighting solutions for the interior and exterior of the facility have helped modernize the precinct and brought new life to the old structure.
